About Kate

Teaching Style: Power has always been my favorite both to teach and to attend, my flows and powers tend to be quite challenging with a lot of emphasis on core, posture and stability. Although it took me quite a few years to learn to enjoy the yin practice, it has become my other favorite… did you know the best way to deepen your power practice is to work on your yin?

Training: I did my YTT at Rama Lotus in 2006/07. I’m also a CSIA Level 2 Ski Instructor and Personal Trainer.

Why I teach: Yoga has always been “my glue” – it holds me together. Physically I need to to keep old injuries at bay and to feel strong and healthy. Mentally I need to keep my busy mind quiet and to stay steady through the ups and downs of life. I am honoured to be able to lead other yogi’s through this practice that I love so much. Yoga teaches us to breathe through things that are uncomfortable – essential life skill!

Before Yoga: I’ve been practicing since I was 18, I feel like I hardly have a “before yoga”. I remember hating it at first but somehow I felt I needed it and stuck with it. Now I rarely go a day without it and I get excited each time I arrive on my mat.
