Cannabis Yoga with Erika Miller

  • Westboro Studio 279 Richmond Road Ottawa, ON, K1Z 6X3 Canada (map)

While the idea of cannabis being used in a yogic setting may seem to many at first to be an odd pairing, the reality is that psychotropic plants of all kinds have been used in meditation as a tool for gaining unique perspectives of awareness for as long as human history and memory can recall.

Join Erika for a 75-minute slow flow practice with focus on body awareness, breath, and down regulating the nervous system. The goal of this session is to explore this sacred relationship with cannabis, if only at a novice level, in a comfortable and controlled setting.

Too often we get caught up in the routine of our scheduled practice, and the hope is that introducing this new element into the familiar space of our yoga room will provide some spiritual refreshment, as well as sharing new perspectives on our preconceived ideas of what a practice "should" be.

Long before the modern views and stigmas surrounding cannabis, this ancient herb was known to many for its medicinal properties. This should be the focus of our session, and hope that participants will approach new ideas with an open mind.
