Become an instructor by delving into the essential principles of Mat Pilates.

Our comprehensive and contemporary program places a strong emphasis on anatomy, alignment, and form—fundamental elements within the Pilates method.

Upon completion, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to teach and be well-versed in mat pilates. As a dynamic and qualified instructor, you'll be empowered to guide your clients through a holistic journey of body, mind, and soul.

With this training, you'll have the flexibility to teach anywhere in the world. We guide you in the art of sequencing and class planning, enabling you to design your own creative and functional Pilates classes. We go beyond teaching the exercises themselves—our focus is on showing you how to craft classes with dynamic layering, seamless transitions, and creative variations, while keeping the class challenging yet functional. You'll not only learn what to teach but also the reasons and methods behind it. As a result, you'll graduate with the ability to create flowing, enjoyable Pilates classes that your clients will cherish.

You will also study and practice specific teaching methodologies designed to help you teach Pilates in an accessible, adaptable and challenging way.

- 42 hours of in class learning
- 18 hours observation
- 18 hours participation
- 15 hours practice teaching
- 2 hours business module
- 2 hours post course revision
- 3 hours examination (written essay, practical, online quizzes)

Your Instructor

Olivia Urquhart is a passionate yoga teacher and pilates instructor, dedicated to helping individuals find balance, strength, and inner peace through mindful movement.

Liv holds an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics, Advanced diploma for Massage Therapy, Holistic Nutrition coach, FMS certification, 200hr YTT, and certified Mat Pilates instructor, certified Lagree instructor, and has over 9 years of experience in the wellness industry. Her teaching style is a unique blend of traditional techniques and modern variations, with a commitment to creating classes that are accessible to students of all levels, and a focus on creating balance (& a good burn) in the body. Her pilates style highlights core stability, alignment, and functional movement, helping you build a solid foundation for a balanced body and mind.

Pilates extends beyond the physical realm and has the power to create positive shifts in all areas of our lives. Through her teaching, Liv aims to foster a sense of community and connection, where individuals can find support and inspiration.

Investment

Early Bird Rate (before February 1st): $2,250 + HST
Regular Rate (after February 1st): $2,500 + HST
+ $500 non-refundable deposit due upon registration
+ Payment plan available to be paid fully by March 1st, 2025

Program Requirements

To receive your full certification, you will be required to complete:
- 100% of in person class hours
- 100% of online post course revision & business module;
- 18 hours of participation;
- 18 hours of observation;
- 15 hours practice teaching;
- Written class plan (of your final video submission)
- 45 - 60 min video of a Pilates mat class (final practical submission)
- 1000 word essay
Participants are given 6 months from the last day of in-person training to complete the online content and assessments. ALL observation, participation and practice teaching hours are to be completed after the in person training, and be taught and completed in the Pilates mat style (ie. yoga flow not acceptable, yoga sculpt acceptable).

FAQS

  • Yes, in-person attendance of all hours is required to receive your full certification.

    If, for valid reasons, a participant must miss one of the in-person training days, a make-up assignment & quiz will be given.

    If more than 15% of the in-person hours are missed, the participant will be able to purchase a private 1-1 extension lesson with Liv.

  • To receive your full certification, you will be required to complete:
    - 100% of in-person class hours

    - Written class plan (of your final video submission)

  • Observation and participation hours must be completed after the in-person hours/training weekends.

    They can be completed with both in-person classes (at Pure or other studio) or online classes (with proof of membership*)

    The practice teaching hours must be to a minimum of 1 person and recorded in the logbook, to be submitted for final practical.

  • Participants are given 6 months from the last day of in-person training to complete the online content and assessments.
